Abstract The last 25 years have seen immense changes, both in the world generally and scientific publishing. It is now hard to imagine that our original editorial responsibilities included managing filing cabinets full of manuscripts making frequent trips post office! In this first Invited Viewpoint, we invited ourselves highlight some key breakthroughs been made on topics are within scope Tribology Letters , i.e., science tribology. We also bring your attention unique, existing features journal, as well new ways which will be more functional for you future. Finally, share views publishing tribology research generally, with aim encouraging publication decisions benefit community a whole.
